Our client is an international law firm which specialises in the energy, infrastructure, financial services, real estate and advanced manufacturing and technology sectors. They have various offices throughout the UK and internationally.
As a utility, water had never been properly managed by this client which resulted in a lack of control over usage and cost. DB Water was engaged to undertake a full review of the client’s water portfolio with a view to establishing the cost of water as a utility to this large commercial concern. A strategy plan was required to manage consumption and lower the ongoing costs.
What DB Water did:
DB Water conducted a full appraisal and discovered multiple areas where improvements in consumption and costs could be made. These areas formed the basis of our strategy which was presented to the client. As a result:
- DB Water secured with the client’s existing Scottish supplier an annual saving of 12%, providing a contract saving of almost £40,000, as this is an existing deregulated market.
- Recognising that the English water supply market deregulates in April 2017, we have implemented a planning strategy, engaging with the client to review all billing data for their English offices and a tender document will be prepared for all suppliers for their response.
Outcome for Client
Enterprise branches are targeted by head and group offices to ensure their costs are tightly controlled and kept to an absolute minimum therefore it was crucial for DB Energy to secure results from the outset. DB Energy achieved this by liaising with energy suppliers in all markets across the UK and Northern Ireland to negotiate the most cost effective solution whilst maintaining the highest level of service.
Enterprise’s Carbon Reduction Commitment goals include a practical roll out of greener systems where we advised on LED lighting systems to replace older, high energy consuming light bulbs leading to significant energy reductions nationwide.
